Our Team - Meet Our TeamJAMES LOEPPKY - REALTOR®I was born and raised in a small town in southern Manitoba. I moved to Calgary in the mid 80’s and graduated high school in Calgary in 1985. I attended Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, studying Aeronautical Engineering and Aircraft Maintenance. I graduaded from SAIT in 1990 and went into the Helicopter Maintenance Engineering field, attaining a AME licence in 1994 after a 4 year apprenticship.The time spent in the aircraft industry taught me how critical attention to detail can be, and how everything that I did could have a huge effect on those who put their trust in me. The 10 years spent working on helicopters was challenging and rewarding, however when my first daughter was born in 1998, I was looking for a carreer that might not take me out of town as much and give me more chance to spend with my family. My wife and I bought a juice bar franchise and successfully ran our Edmonton store for almost 3 years. We employed an average of 15 people at the store, and it was a great learning experience in how to run a business in the service industry, and the value of customer loyalty.During this time I also attained an Alberta Real Estate Licence and worked successfully in the Edmonton market. Our twin daughters were born in 2001, and we decided shortly after their arrival that we wanted to give our growing family the opportunity to grow up in a more natural environment with fresh air and more outdoor activities. The Kootenays of British Columbia was just the spot we were looking for. I completed the BC licence requirements in the summer of 2004 and have been busy with Real Estate in Nelson and the surrounding area ever since. I believe that the diversity and intensity of my experiences are a valuable asset that I can offer to every customer that puts their faith in me as their Realtor. Attention to detail, as well as a “customer first” attitude and a willingness to serve are all things I value in dealing with my clients.
